Live Trivia, Inc. is Free to Play and everyone is welcome on your team. There is no limit as to how many members are on your team at our nightly events, but there are only 6 members who can play at the Battle of Wits and Tournament of Champions. Up to 6 team members are permitted to play at the Battle of Wits AND team members had to have played at least 3 times on your team within the qualification period.
Sign up your team with your Trivia Host. Fill out a registration form to include your team name, team captain, and other information. At that time, you may write down your team members. You may add more team members throughout the qualifications, but only those team members that have played 3 or more times with the league will be able to be one of the team members at the semi-finals or finals. This is so teams won't bring last minute team members to a semi-final or final who have never played with Live Trivia, Inc.
Once your team is signed up with your Trivia Host, the fun begins! You will be given three game cards to use for the evening. Live Trivia entertainment is played in 9 Rounds. There are 3 rounds per game card with 9 questions and 2 bonus questions. Point values increase every three rounds. All teams will assign points to their answers depending on the rounds they are on.
Teams have 2 opportunities to DOUBLE DOWN (bonus questions) on a question per level. Here is an example: If your team is asked, "Who was the first actress to make $20 million for starring in a film?", your team would write Julia Roberts. The host will then let you know that this is a DOUBLE DOWN question and there is a second part to it. The second part to this question would be, "Which film was it?" Doubling Down is OPTIONAL. If you decide to answer the double down question, you risk ALL OR NOTHING. You will either get double whatever points you assigned to that question if you get them BOTH right, but if either answer is wrong, your team will not get any points for that question. The risk is totally up to your team!
There are Team Challenges that are played throughout the evening where teams have an opportunity to add more points to their league scores and also win fun prizes.
At the end of the 9 Rounds, the top 3 Teams with the highest scores win gift certificates. The prize amounts vary per location. See the locations page for exact prize allocations.
If your team needs to leave early for any reason, please see your Trivia Host to sign off on your score for the last Level completed. Those points will be added to your overall points.
Team Challenges are played for extra prizes such as $5.00 gift cards or off your tab/ T-Shirts/ Scratch Offs, etc.
**NO CELL PHONES, BLUETOOTHS, OR LAPTOPS CAN BE OUT AT YOUR TABLE WHILE YOUR TEAM HAS A GAME CARD FOR THE LEVEL BEING PLAYED. ANY TEAMS WITH ANY OF THESE ITEMS IN VIEW OF THE TRIVIA HOST OR OTHER TEAMS WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FROM THE LEVEL YOU ARE CURRENTLY PLAYING IN. THOSE POINTS WILL NOT COUNT TOWARDS YOUR TEAMS TOTALS. ALSO, NO BLURTING OR QUESTIONS HAVE TO BE SWITCHED FOR SUPER JEOPARDY QUESTIONS INSTEAD. NO USE OF REFERENCE MATERIAL IS PERMITTED AT ALL DURING THE GAME.
